Since we began in 1996, Heritage Farms has celebrated the ingenuity and creativity of our Appalachian ancestors though our museums, re-enactors, events and educational programs. The mission of Heritage Farms is to be a source of hope and renewal for the Appalachian region.
In addition to being incredibly smart and adaptable people, our Appalachia’s ancestors were also strong, durable and independent people. They built homes with their own hands using the trees and other natural resources available to them. They grew their own food. They chopped wood for heat. They fished and hunted to feed their families. They were incredibly physical people.
In that spirit, Heritage Farms will be introducing new outdoor recreation opportunities for our guests over the next several years. Currently, We are hard at work creating new adventures for 2021.
We are building the treehouse portion of our new Treehouse Trek and it will be open and ready for our 2021 season.
