Downhill Trails

through the Appalachian forest! Traverse the 10 paths of varying difficulty, enjoying the scenery and challenges from the top of the hill to the bottom. Bikes are available for rent, or you can bring your own.*

There are 2 options for reaching the trail hubs at the top of the hill:

  • Use our uphill trail called the Grindstone (new for 2023)! This 1.1 mile trail will take you on a winding path to the top.

Or:

  • Get picked up by a Holler Hauler (our UTV/side-by-sides)! Participants and their bikes can be picked up at the Adventure Station, which is near the back of the Farm where the rental bikes are housed. They will then be taken to the top of the mountain and dropped off at the trail hub.

No matter how you reach the top, coming down is all the same! Riders will pick a path and head downhill through any of the trails, turns, bumps, and jumps. Upon return to the Adventure Station, riders can head back to the top when they are ready.

Pass Times

10:00 am - 3:30 pm, with a break from 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm.

The final trip to the top of the hill for all riders, regardless of bike type, is 3:00 pm.

All trails are to be clear by 3:30 pm.

Height requirement: at least 48 inches tall

*Personal bikes and helmets must be inspected by Mountain Rim staff prior to use on the trails. Bringing your own bike or helmet does not guarantee that you will be approved to use it.

Inspired Trails

“Mountain biking is one of the best ways to experience nature, especially in the Appalachian Mountains. The idea to add a mountain bike park to Heritage Farm was inspired during a family trip. While there, we saw an old rail bed that has been transformed into a beautiful mountain bike trail. When I saw that, I knew we had an opportunity to do something truly special with our own trails.”

— Heritage Farm Executive Director Audy Perry

Honoring the hard-working people of Appalachia, the trails are named after and marked by farm equipment from throughout the decades. Enjoy conquering the Hay Baler, the Humdinger, the Stump Grinder, and more! Check out the trail map here.
